Arthi is Arthi Nachiappan, a multi-genre DJ, dancer and journalist based in east London. She was born in Chennai and brought to Wales at the age of two, growing up around the UK including Newcastle and Nottingham. She learned to DJ at the London Sound Academy in 2014, taking the music she danced to as her starting point, and moved from submitting guest mixes to radio shows to holding her own show on Rinse FM. Her sets fuse dancehall, reggaeton and afrobeats with UK funky, garage and bass. She hosts the club night We're Gonna Arthi Hard, which brings DJing and dance together and has featured Katy B, Donae'o, Roska and Matty Chiabi. As a dancer she has appeared in videos for Beyonce, Dave, Charli XCX, Saweetie, Amaarae, Kali Uchis and George Ezra, and performed live with Tiwa Savage to twenty thousand people at the O2.
